DRUNK DRIVERS

At the law offices of Paul B. Kemp we hate drunk drivers.
Injuries caused by drunk drivers may lead to a recovery of punitive damages intended to
set an example to discourage others from driving while intoxicated. Punitive damages
are in addition to general damages for injuries. Punitive damages caused by drunk driving
are NOT dischargable in bankruptcy, which gives the person who is injured by a drunk
driver extra "bite." Punitive damages are not automatic under the law but
will depend on the facts under which the driver was driving drunk or under the influence
of drugs. While punitive damages are not covered by a person's insurance policy, an
attorney can go beyond what is available through insurance, and seek a recovery from a
person's home or other assets that they may own.
It is sad, but many law firms stop at the insurance policy limits for drunk
drivers. We don't! We don't stop until the drunk driver has lost all of his
assets and has paid for the damage he or she has done. We have taken homes, attached
wages and have genuinely made life hell for persons who hurt our clients while Driving
Under the Influence.
Do we feel bad about taking away a person's home or attaching a persons wages?
Short Answer: NO!!!
We don't care if it is alcohol, drugs or prescription medication- people under the
influence have no business being on the road. And when they hurt or kill a person,
society should condemn their behavior and make examples out of them.
WE MAKE DRUNK DRIVERS PAY FOR THEIR IRRESPONSIBLE ACTIONS!
